Well Played Both Teams.

The U12s travelled to Seer Green to take on a side we enjoyed three good games against last season.

With key players missing it was a chance for three Colts players to step up (Connor, Nelson and Alex) as well as other players to take the on-pitch responsibility they are capable of taking.

We continued with our new system we have been implementing this season with Connor in goal, Jack and Kaelin as our back two, Charlie linking the defence and midfield, Alex on the left, Andrew on the right, Elliott and Igor in centre midfield and Josh C up front. Nelson and Aqib were the subs and both joined the game in the second half and gave good performances at left midfield and up front respectively.

We soon found ourselves 2-0 up thanks to a brace from Captain Andrew who was revelling in his switch from left midfield to right midfield. His first goal saw him spring the home offside trap by latching on to a good Josh C through ball and his second saw him in the right place at the right time to finish following a good save from Elliott by the home keeper.

Seer Green are a very good side however and got themselves back into the game to draw level 2-2 at half time.

The boys listened at half time and applied what we asked of them in the second half.

We edged ahead when Charlie broke free of the home defence and hammered home.

Seer Green then piled on the pressure up front but our defence held firm with players dropping back to help defend on their own initiative and Connor giving a very calm and reassuring man of the match performance in goal.

In injury time good pressure from Kaelin high up the pitch saw the ball end up at the feet of Elliott who made no mistake in restoring our two goal advantage.

All in all a good performance and result against a very good side (runners up in our divisional cup last season). We now have to get our missing players back and build on this performance and result to ensure a good November which will result in us retaining our red division status when our competitive games start in December.
