Aylesbury Bounce Back To Victory

A terrific turnaround in events over a week, saw Aylesbury win with a much improved performance by all players

The shape of the team behind the ball was vitally important in both defending and retaining possession.

Starting from the back in the team lineup, James in goal had a fine game and was sensible throughout with his decision making. Good distribution but just a little hasty at times, let your team mates find good position first.

Igor and Kaelin (Aqib 2nd half) were the pairing at the back to mark up the centre forward. A lot of the time the coach was asking for better positioning and awareness of the opposition. Always anticipate the threat and judge the path of the ball in order to intercept.
Midfield pairing Josh C and Harry (2nd half Kaelin and Jack). Two simple rules to follow, stay in the centre channel and position behind the ball - always. About 30% of the time we got it right and this will be worked on.

Charlie was the ball winner and there was good work at times, but losing focus and drifting out of position is still a concern. Definitely a rock in defence and skilled on the ball.

Josh H and Andrew were wide midfield with a remit to play in the centre channel and make froward runs when appropriate. This resulted in a much more robust midfield, compact and organised at times when positioning well behind the ball.
Elliot up front and showing great composure on the ball. Gliding past defensive back line of three players at the half way line and dribbling up to the penalty area. The defence couldnt cope and eventually conceded a penalty which Charlie stepped up to take and scored.

The team performance shows promise of much better games to follow.
