Outstanding Team Performance Secures Positive Result in Mini 'El Quackico'!

After last weekend's impressive victory in the Haddenham tournament it was now time for the start of the regular league season with an opening day encounter against our friends and colleagues from Aylesbury FC.

With a match day squad of 15 available (which meant we had 6 subs) we were pretty much at full strength going into the fixture.

The Ducks took control of the game relatively early on thanks to a tremendous Andrew Carr hat trick. As the half wore on the boys began to tire and FC took advantage by pegging the score back to 3-1. This seemed to put the spring back in the boys' feet and a superb gerrard-esque through ball from Charlie Davis was latched onto by Andrew who added his fourth goal of what was a memorable 30 minutes of football for both him and the team.

The boys kept up the pace in the second half as two goals from midfield dynamo Josh Harrison and a magnificent long range effort from Charlie secured a positive result. There was still time for FC to add a second goal to their total for the morning.

Special mentions also go to Oliver Foster in goal who made another great save in the second half (his second save in as many games that was a good as us scoring a goal in terms of its importance to the game), Igor Chrzanowski for his strong display in both defence and midfield, the hardworking Elliott Behan in the middle of the field and Kaelin Shaw who continues to adapt well to the lone striker role.

Manager Lee commented "for the second weekend the team has come together and put on a fine performance. Aylesbury FC achieved great things at this level last season and for us to record a result like this against them is great. We have three tough games coming up against Marlow Royals, Seer Green United and Crendon Corinthians, if we go into these games in the same form we have started the season in and continue to record positive results we can start getting excited about what this squad can achieve in the long run."

Matchday Squad: - Oliver Foster, Nathan Bosworth, Igor Chrzanowski, Charlie Davis, Andrew Carr, Joshua Harrison, Joshua Cotton, Elliott Behan, Kaelin Shaw, Ben Philbey, Nelson Nkanzei, Aqib Zahir, Jack Rollins, Harry Grantham and Jacob Oliver.
