The U10s returned to action after the half term break with a derby game against Aylesbury FC / Haddenham Youth at a sun drenched but chilly Fairford Leys.

The squad was split into its usual two sides with one side consisting of Ben P, Nathan B, Josh H, Aqib Z, Josh C, Andrew C and the returning Edward K and the other consisting of Oliver F, Harry G, Jacob O, Kaelin S, George R, Jack R, Igor C and Charlie D.

The first side took on Aylesbury FC first and took an early lead through Josh H. This settled the team down and the defence of Nathan B and Josh H, covered by Aqib Z in the holding midfield position held firm for the rest of the half before two superbly taken second half goals from Andrew C saw the team home.

The second side took on Haddenham Youth first off and braces from Harry G and Kaelin S saw a positive result recorded to go alongside a positive performance.

The second round of matches saw the first side take on Haddenham in what turned out to be an extremely close match. Haddenham took the lead as tiredness look to be creeping in before Edward K restored parity just before half time. An improved second half performance, in which the team defended from the front through Josh C and always looked threatening with the break away abilities of Josh H and Andrew C backed up by Aqib Z in midfield and Ben P in defence, followed. The boys efforts were rewarded when Edward K added his second goal of the day.

The second side took on Aylesbury FC in what proved to be an end to end affair in which the visitors took the honours at the very end despite Harry G getting his name on the scoresheet yet again. Special mentions go to Oliver F in goal for some fanstastic saves in this game and Jack R who is improving in defence with every game he plays. Supporting roles were played by the ever reliable Igor C and Charlie D who both perform exceptionally in both defence and midfield and George R and Jacob O who always put in 100% effort for the team are also settling well into life in the Blue Division. Worthy of another mention is Man of the Match Harry G whose performance was described as 'unbelievable' by U8 manager Stuart who was helping us out by managing a team for the day.

Manager Lee said "yet again we finish a set of games more than assured of our ability to compete at this level. The most pleasing aspect of the day for me was the continued gelling of the two teams within the squad and the continued improvement of players who at one time it could have been considered were behind overs in the squad in terms of their development. This is no longer the case and it is testament to the boys' hard work and committment that they are now becoming a squad to be reckoned with. I was delighted to see Edward K return to the squad today and for him to score two goals on his return was a fantastic effort. We were missing one of our regular goalkeepers (Toby C) due to illness today and Elliott B due to unavailability, hopefully both will return for the trip to Chesham Athletic next week and we can go into a game with a full squad of 17 for the first time this season."
