Aylesbury United Junior U10s concluded their yellow division cup group B campaign against teams from Marlow Town and Wendover Youth on Sunday morning

Needing only one win from the four games to secure a place in next Sunday's final the boys went a bit further than that and recorded four victories to end the group stage with a maximum 36 points out of 36.

All four games were played in a competitive spirit with all four teams involved playing football in the correct manner. Both games against Wendover were typical blood and thunder derbies with the young ducks winning by a single goal on both occassions.

Special mentions for their performances on the day go to Toby Clarke in goal, Charlie Davies in defence, Elliott Behan (who scored a great hat trick in one of the games against Wendover), Josh Harrison who scored his first ever goal with his head (!) and Andrew Carr who caused numerous problems for the opposition on the left side.

A massive thank you also to U8s manager Stuart Clarke who came down to run one of the sides this morning as our other coaches were unavailable due to work / other club committments.

We are waiting to hear who our opposition will be in next week's final but it is an occassion we are determined to enjoy regardless of the outcome.

In another development we have been informed by the league that from the start of the league season on October 13th the U10s will be promoted to the Blue Division of the South Bucks Mini Conference thanks to their outstanding performance in the yellow division cup.

Manager Lee said "In the space of three weeks we have acheived my two main aims of the season - a cup final appearance and promotion to the Blue Division. The Blue Division will be a massive challenge for us as it contains some really strong clubs but I'm sure once they settle down the boys will compete well and continue with their development as both individuals and as a team. Having worked with the boys for two years now I can say the success they are currently experiencing is well deserved."
