The U10s continued their Yellow Division Cup campaign with a home game against Thame Youth on Sunday morning

Report by Lee Cotton

Having emerged victorious from their opening fixture at Stokenchurch the week before the boys were looking to make further progress in securing a place in either the final or the 3rd / 4th place play off on 6th October.

The team managed by Lee consisted of Oliver F, Ben P, Akeem, Josh H, Josh C and Andrew C. With Oliver ever improving in goal and making some great saves, Ben holding the fort in defence, Akeem acting as the midfield enforcer and Josh H, Josh C and Andrew linking up as an effective trio in attack the team was able to secure two victories.

The team managed by Helder consisted of Toby C, Harry G, Charlie D, Kaelin S, George R, Jacob S and Nathan B. This team contained arguably the U10s three best defensive players and this was used a base to also secure two hard earned victories.

As is always the case in games against Thame our visitors were extremely well coached and played the game in the correct manner and in a fantastic spirit. We look forward to meeting them again in the league at their wonderful Meadow View Park facility in October.

Having secured two victories from their first two group games the boys go into Sunday's final group game with Marlow Town knowing their cup destiny is in their own hands. Having met Marlow in the league last season we know we are in for a competitive encounter.

Manager Lee has set the boys the target of being promoted to the mini conference blue division at christmas and their first two outings of the season suggest that this target is more than acheivable.
