On surprisingly good pitches considering the weather we have had, Pete B managed one of the teams to a victory and a draw.

Toby in goal for both games was confident and committed and we all look forward to seeing him play in goal more often.

Up front was Bradley, who scored a majority of the goals by positioning himself well between the sticks and placing shots nicely low to the far post.

The rest of the team rotated nicely in positions of defence and midfield:

Morgan and Finn – both full of energy and covering a lot of ground, not giving any one much time on the ball and pressuring well.

George, Jamie and Jonathan – showed nice touches and controlled passes and lastly, but by no means least, Matthew showed great awareness to pick a good range of passes and can be credited for a few assists.

It was very enjoyable to watch and I look forward to seeing more of the same from the lads

Well done!

The other team managed by Lee C managed a win and a narrow defeat from their two games.

The first game saw the ever energetic Josh H and Alfie take up defensive duties with Kaelin in goal.

Edward and Andrew played in midfield and Josh C played the lone role up front holding the ball up well on numerous occassions to allow Josh H and the two midfielders to join in our attacks. This tactic resulted in u9 skipper Andrew grabbing a hat trick during the game.

Oliver and Jacob came on as subs during the second half to ensure the scoreline remained in our favour.

The second game was a slightly different affair although the boys can consider themselves unlucky not to have gotten a draw from the game.

Alfie felt a little under the weather so was replaced in the starting line up by Oliver who put in a tireless performance in midfield and got himself in numerous good positions as the game went on.

As tiredness set in the opposition were able to create more chances and seemed to convert every chance they created.

The Townies still managed to get on the scoresheet three times themselves though including a much deserved goal from Josh C.

Edward played the first half in goal but was replaced by Kaelin at half time and again Kaelin was solid and dependable between the sticks whilst Edward battled well in his more familiar position of centre midfield.

Jacob replaced Oliver during the second half and defended with grit and determination as always.

All in all an enjoyable and competitive morning.
