Difficult conditions with great football

Gavin's Team Report:

Harry GK
Roch
Josh
Taylor
Theo
Elliott
Junaid
Harry took up the goalie roll for this game and made some great decisions. He made some great saves and came off his line well. His distribution at times was quick which allowed us to counter. Roch played well at the back and made some great tackles. He pushed the players wide where he could to get them away from goal. He started to grow in confidence and started to burst into the opponents half. Josh took up defence with Josh and has come on so well in the last 3 weeks. His confidence on the ball is growing and his tackling is really good. He broke up the play really well. Taylor took up midfield and started well. Always wanting to get the ball and move forward. Sometimes rushing but when he realised he had time he improved loads. His hard work paying off with 2 great goals. Theo took up striker for this game and ran his heart out. In the last few games his and Taylor's awareness off each other has been at times breath taking. He set up both goals so great work. Elliot came on in the second half and slotted into defence. He played some good balls forward and put in some good tackles at the back. Overall a good performance at the back. Junaid came in to defence as well and played well. Always running around and putting in some last ditch tackles. His ball control was good and at times liked a little run forward. His never scared to put his foot through it and put it out.

Elliot took up between the sticks and played well. Made a couple of saves to keep us in the game at 1-1 and cleared the ball well. Roch took up his usual defensive roll and played well. His break up of the play and clearing of the danger is coming on well. His hard work paid off with a goal. Taylor took up a midfield roll again and played really well. His always making runs forward and then running back to help out the defence. His awareness of players around is improving which shows. Junaid took up midfield as well and again put in a shift. Never mucks about on the ball and clears the danger. Made a few little runs forward and played well. Harry changed his gloves for his boots in this game and played well. He made some good runs forward and had a couple of shots. Never scared to run back and put in the odd tackle. Josh came on in the second half and slotted into defence and put his all into it. Made some great tackles and played some lovely balls forward. His awareness has improved and shows on the pitch. Theo came on and slotted into midfield and played really well. Again linking up with Taylor and scoring a rocket of a goal. He made some great runs forward and also linked up well with Harry in the 2nd half.

I must say over the 2 games the boys where shattered and filthy. The pitches weren't the best by the end being cut up but close play together got the results they deserved.
Well done boys!!

Game 1.

Sean started the game in goal and put in an excellent performance, making some crucial saves to keep the game level. He was unlucky and couldnt do anything about the goal, an overall good match. Noah took the gloves in the second half and stopped everything that came his way, coming off his line well and owning his area. Olek had a lot to do in this match but stood strong with some solid tackling and good passing under pressure with a dominant presence in defence. Zaid took over the defence in the second half and continued Oleks solid performance with some crunching well timed tackles and his good footwork led to him getting runs down the wing. Cameron played in most positions pushing forward with some great runs and passing and also getting tackles in when tracking back. Ilyas put in an awesome performance his confidence shone through as he didnt stop running for the whole match, pushing forward at every opportunity and capped it off with a goal and when needed dropping back defending. Tommy continued his impressive play from last week and showed some good skill and quick footwork and was unlucky not to score. Merouanne and Bogusz came on as subs at half time and showed a brilliant partnership with some great ball control and vision when passing which put Bedgrove on the back-foot for most of the second half the team were unlucky to concede the second goal which deflected in against the run of play in the dying minutes.

Game 2.

Noah was keeper for the whole game and put in his best performance yet with an almost perfect match bravely coming off his line many times to win the ball colliding with defenders and distributing the ball quickly. Zaid had another solid defensive performance with some superb slide tackles and getting back on his feet just as quick as he went down which led to him turning defence into attack on many occasions. Tommy played out of his normal position and had a go at defence and proved he is just as good defending as attacking and showed calm control and skill in winning the ball and passing it out of his area. Bogusz showed off his skill by taking on more than one player at a time and had a brilliant solo run which saw his shot skim the wrong side of the post, on many occasions his quick thinking and good vision put a number of his team mates in on goal. Ilyas had another blinding game with an all round excellent performance great tackles, runs and passes and unlucky not to score his second of the day. Olek had midfield duties in the second half and carried on Bogusz`s awesome performance commanding his area well with some excellent interceptions and tackles and created the pass for Merouanne`s goal. Merouanne had a brilliant time up front taking on defenders, running into space, just being a menace for the whole game, he was rewarded with a goal just before half time with a brilliant finish and was only stopped getting his name on the score sheet again by some great keeping and last ditch tackles.

A brilliant day for all with all players giving everything, which made the star player decision difficult. In the end it was given to:
