Very pleasing to watch

Our first game having TWO Colts teams was a home fixture against our previous Buddy team Bedgrove in the Yellow division.

The players for the day were: Taylor, Billy Broomhead, Harry, Elliott, Josh, Tommy, Roch, Olek, Max, Robbie, Kai & Sophie.

Two Teams were taken by Gavin & Steve with players split as below:
Steve’s Team: Kai, Billy, Olek, Sophie, Josh, Tommy
Gavin’s Team: Harry, Roch, Robbie, Max, Taylor, Elliott

Gavin’s Team - Game 1: Elliott took the goalkeeping duties and made some excellent saves and some fine distribution. Roch had fantastic energy levels all game and made some great tackles, showed great strength running with the ball. Harry had one of his best games, full of energy, running with the ball, tackling when needed and lots of efforts on goal and got himself a well deserved goal. Taylor also had a fantastic day, was all over the pitch tackling, running with the ball and a number of shots that just went wide. Robbie & Max both were excellent in helping team mates, tackling well and trying to assist the team all over the pitch.

Gavin’s Team - Game 2: Harry was in goal for this game and was an absolute star, made some fantastic saves and cleared the ball well when needed. Taylor again had some fantastic runs with the ball and got another goal. Roch was also immense again getting all over the pitch, tackling well, passing and trying to get forward. Max was a little terror tormenting the Bedgrove players and breaking up their play, his game sense improves each week along with his touch and control. Robbie also continues to improve showing some good touches and stopping the opposition getting forward.
Both games were very close with well matched teams.

Steve’s Team - Game 1: The first game started with Olek in goal who made some good saves and has great distribution. Sophie started at the back and was helped out by Josh who once again put in a fantastic defensive performance. Firm but fair, Josh's reading of the game and teamwork improves week in week out. Tommy ran his heart out for the team and went on some wonderful dribbles, especially in the second half. Kai worked hard on the pitch and really got involved, but his day was bettered by his turn with the gloves in the second half. Make some great blocks and came off his line excellently. Olek on the pitch was also a game changer. Strong, fast and some terrific tackling made the second half an excellent 10 minutes. This was however capped by a stunning turn from Billy Broomhead who suddenly starting running rings around the opposition and scored 2 wonderful goals. More of that please billy!

Steve’s Team - Game 2: Kai once again took his place in goal and as in match 1 really shone. Quick off the line and good with his hands, Kai kept Bedgrove at bay. Josh, even after a knock in the first game, was strong at the back and even made some great runs forward. Tommy showed some great skills and scored a lovely goal. Billy again showed great ability and again scored to make it 3 on the day. Olek was a real force in midfield and wouldn't let anyone past! A great performance. Finally Sophie came on and also managed a goal of her own.

All in all, a really good performance from all the kids.
Everyone seems to be taking the practice on Saturday to the pitch on a Sunday and from the coaches point of view that's brilliant.
A big thanks to Steve & Gavin for taking the teams, and to all the support from family and friends.
It means a lot to us coaches as well as the kids to have you all there week in week out and we really appreciate it.
