Great Games, Great performances

Sunday 15th November had the Under 8's Colts teams playing at home to Risborough Rangers Colts.
The teams for the day were under the guidance of Gavin Darvell & Steve Geraghty.

COLTS REPORT - V - RISBOROUGH COLTS (Gavin's Team)

Team: Harry, Sophie, Taylor, Charlie, Junaid and Roch.
Game 1:
1st half
Harry (GK) Sophie (DEF) Taylor (MID) Charlie (MID) Junaid (STK)
The team had a great first half Harry was very commanding in goal and uses his box well. Sophie was a rock at the back and made some good runs forward rewarding herself with a great goal. Taylor made some good runs from the midfield always good on the ball and tracks back when needed. He also rewarded himself with a good goal. Charlie had some great ball control and his quick feet got him out of some tight places. He was always looking for a good pass. Junaid always is looking for that forward pass, played really well and tracked back amazing. Again his ball control was good and got out of tricky situations with it.
2nd Half
Harry (GK) Rock (DEF) Sophie (MID) Junaid (MID) Taylor (STK)
Harry again was commanding and came of his line to stop goal scoring opportunities. Roch is reading the game well and was solid as usual puts in some great tackles and played the ball well. Sophie was again demanding in midfield and very brave, She got a few knocks but carried on. Always solid, Junaid was again a little menace on the ball, running everywhere with it and distributed it well, ball control and skills were very good. Taylor had a great half made some good runs and was unlucky not to score a couple.

Game 2:
1st Half
Charlie (GK) Junaid (DEF) Rock (MID) Taylor (MID) Harry (STK)
The team had a great first half. Charlie was a spectator during the first half and nothing much to do. This was due to Junaid being solid in defence and not letting anything get through, always pushing strikers away from goal. Roch had a good game in the centre tackling and distribution of the ball was very good, always looked for space when the team had the ball. Taylor was again a work horse being everywhere on the pitch, nearly scored a screamer from outside the box. Harry had a good first half, made some good runs and some great tracking back, was unlucky on a few chances.
2nd Half
Taylor (GK) Rock (DEF) Charlie (MID) Sophie (MID) Harry (STK)
Taylor was good in goal and was brave on a few occasions, was unlucky to let one in but dominated his area. Roch took up the defence and was solid again and made some great tackles. Sophie bossed the midfield and made some great runs and set up play. Charlie was a little menace, the ball at times looked like it was stuck to his feet. His hard work paid off with 2 goals. Harry again ran everywhere, made some great runs and great tackles. His hard work also rewarded with a last minute goal.
Great result.

I just want to add watching my team today they were all fantastic. Played with passion and also had fun. There skills are coming along nicely and it's an honour to watch them play. Well done to you all. (Report written by Gavin Darvell)

STEVES TEAM
Olek, Josh, Max, Tommy, Cameron and Billy Broomhead were my team for the games.

The first game started with Olek in goal who made some brilliant saves and was quick off his line when needed. Josh showed his usual strong presence in defence commanding his area and showed good vision with his passing. Tommy and Cameron showed a great partnership in midfield with some well timed passes and some good attacking runs, Tommy didnt stop running his heart out for his time on the pitch and made a superb through ball which led to a goal. Camerons efforts were rewarded with a goal. Max came on as a sub for Cameron and made some brilliant tackles and caused a lot of problems for the opposition. Billy Broomhead showed great ability and quick thinking on the ball and was rewarded with 2 goals.

In game 2: Tommy was in goal and made some crucial saves and showed good vision with his quick distribution. Olek and Josh again put in some excellent tackles and making runs forward when the opportunity arose. Cameron and Max showed a dominance in midfield and some impressive passing which assisted in both goals. Billy Broomhead put in another good attacking performance at got 2 more goals to his name and showed good defensive ability when needed.

A great performance from all and a continuous improvement game after game. I would also like to say thanks to all family and friends that came to support the children. (Report written by Steve Geraghty)
